Blogs, wikis & podcasts (& Second Life)

I've just finished a video presentation that I was asked to make for a publisher's in-house conference in Mexico next week. It's not great, but I found making it a lot of fun. I must do more of this!

Here is a better quality version (requires Quicktime 7.0): Web 2.0 & Language Learning

Great summary of the way things are moving in delivering EFL courses! Spurs me on to learn more! I'd like to have seen something about the use of the "Virtual Classroom" - one of my current projects.

  4. Ana Maria, It must have been a temporary problem (I hope) as I can access it now - I hope you've been able to see it now.

José Luis and Rob, thanks for your comments - I'd be happy for you to write about it, and or link directly to the video if you wanted to as well. It was a lot of fun to make, and I'd be more than happy for more people to get some benefit out of it.

  9. Graham! Well done! Thank you so much for synthesizing three very important worlds of technology and their relevance in language education.

I'm giving a presentation about blogs to PhD students (the majority of whom have very little experience with web technology) and will be sure to recommend your site and this video.

    Thank you!

  10. Thankyou, Leigh & Marlen. I hope it'll be of interest and use to students - that makes me very happy

EFL Geek and others who can't view it - you need to have Quicktime 7.0 installed I think.

  14. Hi Stanley,

Although I've known this blog for some time this is the first time I write a comment here.
First of all, thank you for the serious, neat, professional work you are doing. This blog is an essential resource for any EFL teacher who whishes to learn more and integrate technology into his or her language classroom.

Secondly, I'd like to congratulate you on the video. Great job! It provides a clear and enlightening overview of the most widely-used web 2.0 tools and some of their possible applications. I was glad to see some familiar projects, such as Carla Arena and Dennis' exchange.

Finally, I wanted to let you know that I am going to introduce this blog (and video) to my co-workers during our first Computer Lab Workshop on March 2nd. I've checked your creative commons licence, so I'll share it in compliance with the attributions that are stated there.

    Thanks again and best regards,

    Carla Raguseo from Argentina
